The Arca South Connections

The Food Terminal Inc. (FTI) in Taguig is a 120-hectare property used as a storage and transport hub for food during the 70’s. The government bid a portion of this property on 2012 which Ayala solely won. It is currently being developed to be to become the main gateway to Meto Manila from the south and is now being called “Arca South”. Arca South will be one of the most highly accessible developments in southern Metro Manila. This will be a new center point connecting the north, east, west and south of the Metro. Its master plan is patterned after Ayala’s vision for Makati and BGC combined.

THE SOUTHERN GATEWAY TO METRO MANILA

As of today, the 74-hectare Arca South already has existing roads that link Arca South to the South Luzon Expressway via East Service Road and the C-5  Expressway. Ayala and the government’s future plans for connectivity include:

TAGUIG INTEGRATED TERMINAL EXCHANGE (ITX)

The Taguig ITX will integrate all provincial and city transportation such as P2P buses, public utility vehicles and buses, the PNR train and the highly anticipated “Mega Manila Subway” in one central station.

THE ARCA SOUTH SKYWAY RAMPS (ENTRY AND EXIT)

In progess is the Skyway access from Arca South that will give extra accessibility from SLEX to C-5 and vice versa. Another infrastructure to look forward to will be the Arca South’s connection to the Skyway Stage 3 that will connect the North Luzon Expressway and South Luzon Expressway. (Imagine: Arca South to Quezon City in less than 20 minutes via roads or you can take the subway.)

THE MEGA MANILA SUBWAY

If you are coming from the north, Arca South will be the 12th stop; just right before the Ninoy Aquino International Airport station. The subway stop will be integrated with the ITX for a more efficient and safe commute.

All these projects are on the pipeline and we know that Ayala Land always delivers. Earlier today, Secretary of Department of Transportation, Tugade held a press briefing regarding the construction of major transportation projects. He mentioned that the government will now push its big ticket projects of the “Build. Build. Build” program to help the economy recover from this health crisis. However, due to the pandemic, expect that there will be delays.  They always say that Rome was not built in a day but when all these infrastructures are put into fruition, it is guaranteed that Arca South will soon be one of the highly accessible and strategic locations in Metro Manila.

Fun Fact: Rome was built in approximately 1,010,450 days.
